Except for the rare cars that occasionally venture onto the island’s
cobbled streets, time in Brava seems to have stopped in the 19th century.
The terraced hills are still cultivated with animal-drawn tools, and life in general unfolds at a sleepy pace.
The mountainous hinterland is extremely scenic and the coastline is truly magnificent, but due to its remote location and poor connections to the outside world, Brava is the least visited island by foreign tourists.
Exploring it, you can admire buildings of great beauty; they are owned by the inhabitants of Brava who, after having emigrated to the United States in search of fortune and having made a position for themselves, returned home to realise their lifelong dream.
How to get there:

Nova sintra
Nossa Senhora do Monte
Faja d’agua natural pools
Miradouro Mirabeleza
The highest point on the island (976 m) offering a wonderful view of the ocean and the enormous volcano of Fogo Island.
Fonte de Vinagre
Furna
Due to the relief, the climate is particularly humid with temperatures ranging between 16 and 26 degrees, depending on the altitude. The coldest months are from December to April.
