The last eruption took place in 2014 and the inhabitants, as always characterised by great resilience, once again had the strength to rebuild and continue their ambitious projects at the foot of the volcano.
The black beaches, lunar landscapes and rugged terrain give this place a magnetic appeal. Despite the scarcity of water and such an inhospitable nature, it is known for producing a renowned coffee and excellent wine.
