Santiago
the most African island

It belongs to the “leeward islands” group and is the largest island in Cape Verde.

Santiago, the largest island of the archipelago and the first to be colonised, with its sandy beaches, desert plains, verdant valleys and mountainous hinterland encompasses a bit of everything you will find on the other islands.

How to get there

By plane: there are no direct flights from the USA but many European companies operate international flights from all the main airports in the USA as well direct flights from some European
cities to Praia.
The domestic flights from Fogo, Maio, Sal and São Vicente not only make it easy to get Santiago from another island but also make island happing quicker and more comfortable.
By ferry: from Maio and Fogo directly. From Brava passing through Fogo.
