Snorkeling on Djeu Island and Island Tour with pick up 4X4 – Boavista

We would love to take you on an unforgettable snorkeling trip to the stunning island of Djeu and show you some of the most breathtaking landscapes Boa Vista has to offer!

The small island of Djeu, located just in front of the bay of Sal Rei, naturally breaks the current, creating calm waters that are perfect for snorkeling. It’s also a safe spot for those who are not strong swimmers. In these crystal-clear waters, you’ll often see a wide variety of colorful fish and coral—and with a bit of luck, even sea turtles or baby sharks.

What to expect during the tour

• Hotel pick-up between 08:30 and 09:30 (time depends on your hotel location).

• Transfer to Sal Rei beach, where we board the boat.

• A short 10–15 minute ride takes us to Djeu Island. (All snorkeling equipment is included in the price.)

• Around 1.5 hours of snorkeling and exploring the island. On land, you can visit the historic Fort Duque de Bragança, built during the Portuguese colonial era to protect Sal Rei’s bay from pirate attacks.

• After snorkeling, we head back to a beach bar for lunch.

• In the afternoon, the adventure continues with a 4×4 pick-up tour—you can ride either inside the cabin or in the open back.

The southern island highlights

• Santa Monica Beach – the most famous and stunning beach on Boa Vista. You’ll have time to walk around, and our guides will happily take pictures for you (no extra cost!).

• Lighthouse of Morro Negro – offering spectacular views from Santa Monica all the way to Shark Bay.

• Praia Varandinha caves – a dramatic spot and a paradise for photography lovers.

• Shark Bay – home to a lemon shark nursery, where baby sharks can be seen year-round.

• Turtle Bay – where loggerhead and green turtles are frequently spotted throughout the year.

• Morro de Areia sand dunes – one of Boa Vista’s most unique landscapes, where you can also try sandboarding.

At the end of the day, we’ll personally bring you back to your hotel. Return is usually around 16:30.
